Welcome
Welcome to the Streaming Media Network website! Streaming Media Network is a movie production company run entirely by students at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA. Founded two years ago by PHC student Daniel Noa, SMN offers students opportunities to be involved in every facet of movie production, including acting, editing, cinematography, writing, producing, prop design, set dressing, costume design, advertising, scoring, and directing.
God gives people many different methods through which they can impact the culture. For us, that method is film. Although Patrick Henry College is committed to the goal of impacting the culture in as many ways as possible, the school's resources are limited. As a result, film is a medium which Patrick Henry College cannot yet pursue. We believe it cannot be ignored. Streaming Media Network is a student-led effort to learn the art of film-making to impact the culture.
Two years ago PHC freshmen Jeremiah Lorrig and Matthew Roche went birthday shopping for their friend Daniel Noa. They came back with two BB guns and a ski mask. Eager to use the guns (but not wanting to actually murder each other), the three of them, along with Daniel's roommates RJ Smith and Paul Shippy, decided to make a short film. What began as a night of freshman fun evolved into the 19-part, action-adventure drama Hitman. The show involved more than eighty PHC students and faculty and took two years to complete. During this time, Daniel gathered a loyal following of Hitman fans and began using the name "Streaming Media Network" for his productions. In late 2005, Streaming Media Network became an official Patrick Henry College club.
